Background

The Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Chapter is an Alumni Extension chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers.  Our charter was received by NSBE World Headquarters and took effect on August 1, 2006.  Currently, NSBE-CRICC is the first and only Alumni Extension chapter in Iowa.

NSBE-CRICC is a 501(C) (3) non-profit association represented by technical-professional members throughout the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area. NSBE-CRICC is dedicated to increasing the participation of African Americans and other under-represented groups in the fields of engineering and technology from pre-college to professional. NSBE-CRICC works to ensure that students and professionals at all levels develop the skills necessary to excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact their communities.
